A Little Bit About Honey and Tea

Welcome to Honey & Tea Arts! I am an artist who loves all art, and I think artistry is what makes life beautiful. Robin Williams said in the Dead Poet’s Society, “medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for,” and that pretty much sums it up.

I believe that art in all forms adds beauty to life and enriches us as individuals. I also believe everyone can be an artist, though maybe not in the same medium, and so much of life’s richest passions come by finding the brush stroke that suits you best, whether that be cooking, organizing, creating, parenting, accounting, or anything else done intentionally.

My personal goal as an artist is to encourage hope that life still holds light amidst the darkness and to remind people of the moments that they forget or let go too quickly: the beautiful moments, and the simple ones. My desire to sow hope stems from my faith, but my art is rarely overtly religious as beauty speaks on its own. It does not need to be overt for it to be sacred (though that can be beautiful too). I respect and welcome all viewpoints and I hope everyone can feel encouraged by the art I make, regardless of what they believe.

What I am most excited about though, is that I plan on starting a poetry-focused blog soon! The first subscription email should be released Friday the 22nd. I want my blog emails to be life-giving and refreshing, not just junk filling your inbox so I will try to keep it to a poem, any newly finished art (and maybe some exclusive promo codes), and any pressing news. Anyway, I can’t wait to share it with you, but feel free to subscribe, enjoy my visual arts, and explore the site.

Thanks!
